Job Brief
We are seeking an objective-driven, business-minded Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of operational needs and requirements and great leadership experience, along with a good eye for detail. The focus of the role will be to manage, update, and maintain the telecommunications aspect of the business, always keeping in mind the operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective management of the company’s telecommunications systems, whilst advising on improvements, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
 - Actively reach out for feedback from users and ascertain the end user’s needs and requirements of the systems and ensure the structure in place meets operational demand.
 - Document and keep a record of all plans, requests, and activities requested by users or departments within the business.
 - Makes notes of any specifications required and takes action to implement them.
 - Effectively design networks and systems along with program features where applicable and allocate resources to them.
 - Monitor, investigate and test systems and equipment and provide troubleshooting processes for any issues users are experiencing.
 - Monitor and provide evaluations of the system's performance levels and implement strategies to improve the system’s functionality and capabilities where required.
 - Manage, coordinate, and oversee the company’s telecommunications activities to ensure compliance within the business.
 - Collaborate with external vendors to ensure the best equipment is purchased at the best price and provide reports on budgets and justifications for expenditure.
 - Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices is adhered to.
 
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or other related fields
 - Demonstrated experience in a Telecommunications role, or IT role with supervisory or management experience
 - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and databases
 - Great interpersonal skills with the ability to work with other departments and external vendors
 - Good leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train others on how to use systems and equipment correctly
 - Great communication skills, both written and verbal
 - Excellent team working abilities
 - Great problem-solving skills, with troubleshooting experience
